PMLN Leader Khawaja Asif Arrested
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday, December 20, 2020, arrested a prominent leader of PML-N Khawaja Asif in a case of assets beyond means. The PML-N leader was arrested from Islamabad.
Khawaja Asif has been arrested in a case of assets beyond means, NAB spokesperson has confirmed. Sources informed Newspress Pakistan that the chairman NAB had signed on Khawaja Asif’s arrest warrants and that he has been shifted to the Rawalpindi office.
Sources further informed that NAB arrested Khawaja Asif in a case that Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar had filed against him. Khawaja Asif failed to declare the source of PKR 220 million he received from the UAE, the sources said.
Moreover, PML-N lawmaker Hina Parvez Butt said that she condemned the arrest and warned Prime Minister Imran Khan that his “days in office were numbered”.
