She was admitted to Pranji Hospital in Brain Hamburg where he succumbed to his injuries. Firdous Begum is survived by two sons and a daughter.
Firdous Begum made her artistic journey in 1963 with the film Fanoos. Released in 1965, Malangi was a success and Firdous became a superstar.
When the pair got hit with film star Akmal, they got married. Akmal named the market in the Gulberg area Firdous Market, which is still very popular today.
In 1970, the film Heer Ranjha made Firdous a superstar. Firdous’s performance, dialogue delivery and dance were highly appreciated in Harranjha.
Firdous’s duo Akmal, Sudhir, Yusuf Khan, and Ijaz Durrani remained popular. Firdous’s second marriage to filmmaker Sheikh Nazir Hussain.
Firdous Begum quit the film industry in 1976 but reappeared on the silver screen in 1984. Firdous acted in 170 films during his artistic journey. Firdous has acted in Urdu, Punjabi and Pashto language films which have won the Best Actress award three times.
