As per the government of the United Arab Emirates, the first day of the upcoming year 2021 on the modern Gregorian calendar as well as the Julian calendar, 1 January, will be a public holiday in UAE. UAE government announced a public holiday on New Year’s first day.
All the public and private sector workers will get a day off to mark the New Year 2021, said the ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
As the news Year’s first day is observed on Friday, January 1, 2021, which is already a weekly holiday in the United Arab Emirates – most of the employees will not gen an additional day off.
Nasser Bin Thani Al Hamli the minister for human resources in UAE announced that it would be a paid holiday for all private sector organizations, on the occasion of New Year, as per the decision of the UAE cabinet on official holidays for 2021.
The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that January 01, 2021, will be a public holiday in the UAE.
